Description
Humidity / Temperature stability chamber specs Create four climate controlled chambers (humidity and temperature control for stability) with interior dimensions of at least 24x24x24 inches, with shelving for holding wood samples to condition to specific moisture content. The chambers should all run off 208 V 1 phase 60 Hz power, with a deionized water inlet and drain connections for humidity creation and control. The units should be of rugged construction to withstand hot and cold conditions with both high and low humidity interior conditions as further specified below. The interior must be stainless steel to resist corrosion and all doors, ports, and windows must be well sealed and insulated to maintain interior conditions and provide a long service life. All units should use highly accurate temperature and humidity sensors and provide sufficient air flow along with a robust control system capable of holding temperature set point within 1 degree C and humidity set point to 3 % RH inside the chamber at all times after initial stabilization. The control system on all units should make it simple to enter desired RH and temperature control set points and provide user feedback. Two of the units should be RS232 enabled to allow remote control and monitoring of interior conditions with a computer. The four units have different temperature and humidity requirements. Two should be able to go down to -17 C and up over 120 C. The other two can go from 4 C to 90 C. All chambers should be able to go from 20 % RH to 93% RH (understanding a 4 degree C dew point limitation may make part of this range unavailable without a dryer). Two of the chambers should contain a drying unit which allows RH below ambient conditions down to at least 10 % RH under all temperature conditions. One dryer should be installed on one of the units which can go over 100 C for temperature, and this unit should have a small port and plug available on the top of the unit for access to the chamber while it is running.
