Description
SOURCES SOUGHTOncology and Hematology Professional Services The Amarillo VA Healthcare System (AVAHCS) is seeking potential bidders for a requirement for a board certified Oncologist and a board certified Hematologist. The requirement for the Oncologist is anticipated to include performing in-patient consults, providing on-call service 26 weekends per year, providing direction on oncology related matters to the clinical staff. The requirement for the Hematologist is anticipated to include: conducting a four hour out-patient clinic (avg. 10-12 patients) two times per week, providing in-patient consultations (approximately 12 per year), making rounds nominally five (5) days per week and providing on-call service 26 weekends per year, providing direction on oncology related matters to the clinical staff. Both practitioners will be required to provide expertise for peer review of selected cases and perform compensation and pension exams. The practitioners will be required to complete written and electronic medical records requirements, including, but not limited to proficient use of the VAs Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) in a timely manner. The practitioners will be required to comply with Credentialing and Privileging requirements described in the Medical Staff By-Laws. No service shall be provided by any contract physician prior to obtaining approval of the VA. These services will be provided in accordance with current VA policies and procedures, Joint Commission (formerly known as the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JACHO)) requirements, Federal and State laws and regulations and the Amarillo VAHCS Medical Staff By-Laws. The contract period is expected to be for a base year plus four option years, from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2014, subject to award and availability of funds. This procurement is conducted under the authority listed in the Federal Acquisition Regulations. The applicable NAICS Code is 721111 and the size standard is $10.0 million dollars.
