- Description
- An indefinite delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Requirements, firm fixed price contract is contemplated for J85 MISTR component repair and overhaul and engine depot level overhaul. Contractor will conduct repair of engine and MISTR components for the Air Force, and Navy, and NASA and FMS component repair and engine overhaul will be on an as required basis. This effort is considered a bridge contract in order to maintain continuous uninterrupted support. This will be a sole source award; however, the follow-on contract is expected to be a competitive acquisition using Air Force Source Selection Procedures. Request for Proposal (RFP) is anticipated to be released 27 May. Award date is anticipated to be August 2009. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (QRs): QRs are available for this part number and data is available upon request. There is one approved source at this time. Award will be made only if the offeror meets QRs in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
