- This acquisition is proceeding as a firm fixed price, 8(a) COMPETITIVE Invitation for Bids (IFB). THIS PROJECT IS LIMITED TO 8A CONTRACTORS WHOSE APPROVED BUSINESS PLAN IS ON FILE AND SERVICED BY EITHER THE SBA FRESNO, SCRAMENTO, OR THE SAN FRANCISCO SBA DISTRICT OFFICE. ALL OTHER FIRMS ARE DEEMED INELIGIBLE TO SUBMIT BIDS. Estimated Cost Range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000 Period of Performance for Construction: 120 calendar days for (Base) Place of Performance: Sacramento River Bank Protection Project, Sacramento and Feather River Erosion Control Sites Rivermile (Sac RM) 42.7R, 55.2L, 73.5L, 77.2L, 87.0L (F RM) 5.5L This Procurement will be conducted under FSC CODE: Z299, SIC CODE: 1629, NAICS Code: 237990. The size standard for this code is $33,500,000. All questions should be directed to the Contract Specialist, Angkham A. Job Descriptions: The primary objective of the Sacramento River Bank Protection project is to place quarry stone on the lower slopes, and soil filled quarry stone on the upper slopes of several erosion sites along the banks of the Sacramento and Feather Rivers. In-stream wood, fascines, and erosion control seeding will also be installed. For two of these sites, the base work must be installed from the waterside. The options include installation of plantings, plugs, beaver fencing and cages, pole cuttings, irrigation and plant maintenance. It is anticipated that the Invitation for Bids (IFB) will be issued on or about June 16, 2009, for downloading at the Government's website at FedBizOpps www.fbo.gov. No paper copies will be issued. Information about the time and location of the site visit/pre-proposal conference will be found in Section 00100 of the specifications. A site visit/pre-proposal conference: TBD after the solicitation. The specific date and time will be identified in the solicitation. OFFERORS ARE ADVISED THAT THIS PROJECT MAY BE DELAYED, CANCELED OR REVISED AT ANY TIME DURING THE SOLICITATION, SELECTION, EVALUATION, NEGOTIATION AND/OR FINAL AWARD PROCESS. Ordering Solicitation: Plans and specifications will NOT be provided in hard paper copy or CD-ROM format. The solicitation and all amendments for this acquisition will be posted on a secure Government website known as FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) once the IFB is issued. Viewing/downloading documents from FedBizOpps will require prior registration in Central Contractor Registration (www.ccr.gov ). If you are a first-time FedBizOpps user, you will also be required to register in FedBizOpps before accessing the IFB documents. To register, click on the Register Now button in the Vendors Block and follow the instructions.
