- SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic Charleston intends to award a sole-source contract,in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, to Harris Corporation RF Communications Division, 1680 University Avenue, Rochester, NY 14610 for one (1) 400 Watt High Frequency (HF) Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) Radio System, for the T-AKE 11. The RF-5800H transceiver, third generation, utilized by deployed forces ashore, is required as part of the shipboard ALE circuit to ensure interoperability with deployed forces. Harris RF Communications Division is the original designer and producer of this transceiver which is the only known HF radio that has embedded HF-ALE capability while being Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certified to MIL-STD-188-110B Appendix C. The Government anticipates award of a Non-Commercial Firm Fixed Price contract. The NAICS Code is 334220 and the applicable size standard is 750 employees. NO SOLICITATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE AS A RESULT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Comments shall be submitted in writing via e-mail to SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston Code 2.2.5.5JO, John R. O'Connor at john.r.oconnor@navy.mil or via facsimile at 843-218-4918. Any response to this announcement must be received no later than 1400 (Eastern) 15 June 2009. All responses will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed action is solely within the discretion of the Government.
