- Description
- The USDA Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot National Forestt, intends to acquire by contract the construction of approaches and steps to the Upper Lava Canyon trail bridge. The work consists of constructing guardrails and handrails, excavating rock in the trail area, and leveling the trail from side to side. The project site can be located by traveling on Interstate 5 to the Woodland exit, then traveling east on SR 503 which becomes Forest Road 90. Continue to Forest Road 83, turn north, and travel to the project location at the end of Forest Road 83. The Forest Service intends to issue a solicitation for this project utilizing FAR Part 13 procedures for simplified acquisition. This acquisition is 100 percent set-aside for Small Business concerns. Offerors will be evaluated on price, experience, and past performance. A single contract will be awarded to the offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, is the best value to the government. The Government estimate for this project is between $25,000 an d$100,000. Payment Protection will be required for this project and Davis-Bacon wage rates will apply to any resulting contract. The proposed contract-type is firm-fixed price. This solicitation will be available on or about June 12, 2009. The period of performance for this project will be 45 days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed, which is anticipated to be issued on or about August 1, 2009. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the government. In accordance with FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR on the part of the offeror will render an offeror ineligible for award.
