Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to procure the design, development, fabrication, and testing of a new Munitions Lifting Assembly unit. This new Munitions Lifting Assembly unit shall be designated the A/M32K-11 Munitions Lifting Assembly (K-11 MLA) and will replace the A/E32K-3 Munitions Assembly Conveyor (8457540-10, NIIN 01-202-5141) currently being used by the United States Marine Corp (USMC). The objective of this procurement is to replace the current USMC unit with a new munitions assembly conveyor system that is improved and compatible with the A/M32K-10 Munitions Trailer and the MTVR MK 23, 25, 27, & 28 series tactical vehicles. The new MLA will provide a mobile capability to rapidly assemble/disassemble conventional munitions and provide a means to load/unload to/from a munitions trailer. During operation, the munitions components are brought to the on load gantry, placed on the rail conveyor for assembly and progress to the offload gantry where the complete assemblies are removed and transported to the flight line. The unit is required to be disassembled for transport from base to base as mission locations change. An external maintenance trailer will provide electrical power and pressurized air to power the MLA. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) type contract consisting of a one (1) year base with three (3) option periods. The required basic quantity is for three (3) Pre-production First Article Units. There will be (3) three option periods in which a total of up to an estimated 30 additional units can be procured. This procurement will include technical data requirements. This procurement is 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The solicitation will be posted on the NAVAIR homepage located at http://www.navair.navy.mil. Select “Doing Business” and then “Open Solicitations.” Look for amendments on the web page. Hard copy of solicitations and amendments will NOT be mailed to contractors. The solicitation will be posted on the web, on or about 29 June 2009. The Government will not accept electronic offers. The applicable Statement of Work and Performance Specification will not be available until after release of the solicitation. The point of contact is: Mr. Michael R. Sommeling, phone (732) 323-1862, facsimile: (732) 323-2359 or e-mail: michael.r.sommeling@navy.mil or Ms. Cindy Scheper, phone (732) 323-2408, facsimile: (732) 323-2359, e-mail: cindy.scheper@navy.mil.
