Description
This is a notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source, fixed price contract to Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. 7102 Riverwood Dr., Columbia, MD 21046 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The FBI has a requirement for the following Shimadzu High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) System accessories: 1. HPLC Startup kit #1 w/2-gallon poly waste can (P/N 220-91494-01) Qty 3 2. Semi-micro mixer for high pressure applications, 100µL (P/N 228-35830-93) Qty 3 3. SIL-20AXR UFLC High pressure autosampler with installation kit (P/N 220-91397-17) Qty 3 4. Shim-Pack XR-ODS HPLC Column, 2.0 x 50mm (P/N 228-41605-92) Qty 3 5. 1.5mL Vial kit, clear silanized glass, 100/pack (P/N 228-45451-91) Qty 3 6. 1 year warranty (P/N 1YW) Qty 3 7. Installation and customer familiarization (P/N I&F) Qty 3 Extensive research conducted with knowledgeable individuals in Government and the related industry has determined Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. the only responsible source capable of meeting the FBI's requirement to interface the required Shimadzu accessories with the Thermo Electron LTQ OrbiTrap XL, the Applied Biosystems API 4000, and the Applied Biosystems API 4000 Q-Trap. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 3:00PM EST, Friday, June 12, 2009 to Mr. David V. Smith via fax @ 703-632-8480 or by email to David.V.Smith@ic.fbi.gov. All correspondence shall reference RFQ 09-Q-LDQ002150. Phone calls will NOT be accepted. Information received will be used solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13.5. The awardee must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database and the Online Representations and Certifications. In addition, interested parties must also be registered and have completed the On-Line Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). Information and registration details can be found at http://orca.bpn.gov. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website: www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
