Description: Federal Business Opportunities Information SOLICITATION NO. W9128F-09-R-0042 On or about 24 June 2009, this office will issue a Request for Proposal for construction of the CHAPEL COMPLEX, PN 56336 AND 72139, FORT LEONARD WOOD, MISSOURI. The solicitation will close on or about 24 July 2009. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. Site visit is scheduled for 7 July at 0800 at Fort Leonard Wood. Meet at Corps Area Office 1334 First Street, Building 2204, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO 65473. To register attendance for the site visit, Contractors should contact Robyn Kiefer at (816) 389-3615 or e-mail robyn.v.kiefer@usace.army.mil) no later than 6 July 2009. The Contractors will need to provide: names of persons attending along with name of company, phone and fax number and e-mail address. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description (Approx. quantities) Construction of a multi-faith 32,800 Square Feet Chapel Complex that provides for a weekly seating capacity of 600 persons in fixed pews and allows for a 'special occasion' capacity of 1,191 persons when combined with the adjoining worship area. This project scope also includes religious educational classrooms and supporting staff offices. Additionally, the scope includes construction of a dumpster enclosure, a 150 SF exterior storage building for yard equipment, and associated utilities, electric service, parking, drive, walkways, and landscaping. RFP Evaluation Criteria Submissions will be evaluated based on a best value approach considering technical elements for evaluation (i.e., Construction Experience, Past Performance, Personnel Qualifications and Experience, Subcontractors and Project Management Plan). An adjectival method of evaluation will be used to evaluate all technical factors. Price will be evaluated separately for reasonableness and realism. A Best Value will be considered after reviewing price and technical factors. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $7,500,000 and $10,000,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work within 520 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
