Description
This is a Sources Sought notice to provide Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) programming feed to Holloman AFB, NM. This notice is not a Request for Proposal, Request for Quotes, or Request for Bids, it is a market research tool used to determine potential sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of any Request for Proposal/Quote/Bid. The Government is not obligated to, and will not pay for, any information received as a result of this notice. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award as a result of this notice. Any capability information received will not be used in the final solicitation evaluation and award. The 2007 North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code to be used for this acquisition is 517110, Wired Telecommunications Carriers, the Small Business size standard being 1,500 employees. SCOPE OF WORK: The contractor will provide four (4) channels of IPTV service to support 2,000 end user terminals, 35 of which are located in public viewing areas. The 35 public viewing terminals are active Monday through Friday between the hours of 0800 (8:00 AM) and 1700 (5:00 PM). All other terminals are located in private offices throughout the installation. Currently, the four channels being used are CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, and The Weather Channel, with the ability to change these channels as required. The Government owns the following equipment, already installed and functional, to accomplish the distribution: 4 each VBRICK Windows Media set top boxes, Part Number 8000-01132; 2 each VBRICK Windows Media Dual Channel Encoders, Part Number 9190-4300-000; 1 each Dell Portal server, Part Number 8000-0049, Satellite Television Headend to support four (4) channels of content. It is anticipated that this award will be made for an initial period of one year, with four option years.
