- The following additional revisions are hereby incorporated into the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) of 20 May 09: 1) Third paragraph, the fourth sentence is revised to read as follows: Award of a contract/s for Detail Design and Construction (DD&C) is expected in FY11; 2) The seventh paragraph of the BAA is revised to read as follows: "This Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) seeks proposals from potential shipyard offerors to provide: Comments, recommendations, data, and/or studies on the: (1) Feasibility of the notional program detail design, construction, and test schedule; (2) Producibility of the functional baseline design (including build strategy and modularity and make/buy approaches); (3) Long lead time materials; (4) Propulsion train test plan; (5) Impact of metric design on build strategy and construction; (6) Breakdown of the Total cost of the program effort, from Detail Design and Construction (DD&C) through completion of shipyard support related to final acceptance, in standard terms of: -Materials-Shipyard Setup-Non recurring engineering costs-Construction of the craft-Labor All of the above are to be developed with the objective of minimizing both time and cost for the overall program effort and optimizing final product quality. Additionally, the offerors shall determine the need for specific build techniques and strategies related to any specifics of the design." 3) The tenth paragraph of the BAA, i.e. the paragraph before "WHITE PAPER SUBMISSION", the third sentence is revised to read as follows: "NAVSEA intends to award up to four Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contracts for proposals deemed acceptable by the government at a price not-to-exceed $200,000.00 each."
