- Description
- This project consists of removal of two existing culverts (1 78 diameter, 1 76 span by 63 rise pipe arch); installation of a 24 ft. span length treated timber bridge with abutments at one site; construction of an aggregate-surfaced low water ford crossing at the second site; reconstruction of roadway approach abutment fills; and restoration of 235 lineal feet of streambed (combined total length for both sites) to simulated natural conditions. The project is located on Forest Roads 30729 and 30652 north-northeast of Escalante, Utah. Access to the project site from Escalante is by the Hells Backbone Loop Road (County Road to Forest Road 30153 for 18.5 miles to the junction of Forest Road 30145, then along NFSR 30145 for 1.44 miles to the junction with NFSR 30729, then 225 feet to Project Site 1. To Access Project Site 2 from Site 1, continue on Road 30729 for 0.54 miles to the junction with Forest Road 30652, then follow Road 30652 for 0.32 miles to Project site 2. A Forest Visitor/Travel Map may be helpful to determine the proximity of the project from a larger prospective. A Forest Visitor/Travel Map may be acquired from the Dixie National Forest. This project will be a HUBZONE SET-A-SIDE. The site visit is scheduled for July 9, 2009, 12:00 a.m. Meet at the project site This project will be uploaded into FedBizOpps approximately June 18, 2009.
