Description
This project consists of removal of two existing culverts (1 – 24” diameter, 1 – 36” diameter); installation of a 15 ft. span length treated timber bridge with abutments at one site; installation of a vented ford crossing consisting of two treated timber box crib abutments and a steel bar grating over the stream at the second site; reconstruction of roadway approach abutment fills; and restoration of 186 lineal feet of streambed (combined total length for both sites) to simulated natural conditions. The project is located at 2 crossings of Delong Creek. The first site is on NFSR 30085 at Milepost 8.549 where the road crosses Delong Creek and is approximately 8.5 miles west-northwest of Panguitch, Utah. The second site is at Milepost 0.056 of road U21440, approximately 1.5 miles west of Project Site 1. Access to Project site 1 from Panguitch is by 175 North Street to County road to Forest Road 30085 to the Project Site at Milepost 8.549. To access Project Site 2, continue on Forest Road 30085 for xx miles to Forest Road 32097(Junction has sign saying City of Panguitch Water System), then along Road 32097 for 0.31 miles to the junction with Road 21440, then 0.056 miles on Road U21440 to Project site 2. A Forest Visitor/Travel Map may be helpful to determine the proximity of the project from a larger prospective. A Forest Visitor/Travel Map may be acquired from the Dixie National Forest. This project will be a HUBZONE SET-A-SIDE. Project estimated to be between $100,000 and $250,000 (Note: Government estimate is on the lower end of this scale) The site visit is scheduled for July 10, 2009, 9:00 am Meet at the USFS office in Panguitch, UT This project will be uploaded into FedBizOpps approximately June 18, 2009.
