Drop-in Replacement for SUMITOMO #CPWHJ-120-N-950:1 Contract Specialist: Alex Smith I am requesting to post the following: Description This publication serves as notice of intent to procure supplies for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), NESDIS on a sole source basis with General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, Inc. in accordance with the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) "Only one responsible source". Using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, procedures the Government intends to procure a quantity of one SUMITOMO Gearbox, Azimuth for 21-Meter Antenna #CPWHJ-120-N-950:1, S/N 026P2653 delivered no later than March 31, 2010. General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, Inc has sole proprietary rights for the equipment which meets NESDIS's mission requirements through its unique technological capabilities and standards for equipping and fabrication of the required Gearbox Azimuth. Specifically, the units will meet the following specifications: The requirement is for sole source name brand no, substitutes for Gearbox, Azimuth for 21-Meter Antenna. Drop-in Replacement for SUMITOMO #CPWHJ-120-N-950:1, S/N 026P2653. The anticipated contract will be a contract for supplies, with firm fixed-pricing. All parts and installation shall be completed on or before March 31, 2010. Delivery USDOC/NOAA/NESDIS, Fairbanks, AK. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 10 calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing via e-mail to the Contract Specialist, Alex Smith at Alex.Smith@noaa.gov. All vendors doing business with the Government are required to be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). NO award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR.
