- Description
- The Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, Alabama intends to negotiate a sole source procurement for Lab Services with Vaughan Regional Medical Center Selma, Alabama for the period August 1, 2009 through July 31, 2010, with two one-year options to extend. The authority permitting other than full and open competition for this procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. This authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. The resulting contract will be firm-fixed price and the NAICS Code is 621511. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation documents are available. If a firm believes it is capable to perform these services they must provide a company capabilities statement and evidence of providing these services to other customers. This information is to be provided to the Contracting Officer, VA Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road East Tuscaloosa, Alabama or by fax to 478-274-5592, not later than June 9, 2009. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
