- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard is setting aside this acquisition for Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Small Business concerns. The Coast Guard intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The NAICS Code is 336611 and the SIC is 3731. The acquisition is for dockside repairs to the USCGC DRUMMOND (WPB-1323), a 110 FOOT B CLASS PATROL BOAT, at the vessels home pier located at USCG Sector Miami, 100 Macarthur Causeway, Miami Beach, Florida. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value Request for Quotes (RFQ), on or about 19 June 09 with quotes due on or about 13 July 09 via the Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBIZOPPS) web page at https://fbo.gov. This requirement will be evaluated using past performance as an evaluation factor. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option for automatic notification service. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings is available free of charge to contractors upon request not later than three (3) days from the solicitation issuance. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). The home pier of the vessel is the USCG Sector Miami, 100 Macarthur Causeway, Miami Beach, FL 33139-5199. The vessel’s availability is for Twenty-one (21) calendar days, starting on or about 28 September 2009. The scope of this acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC DRUMMOND (WPB-1323). Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs, including but not limited to the following definitive or optional items: renew insulation in various compartments, repair single point davit pedestal, renew sanitizer, install cofferdam in galley, clean and inspect sewage collection and holding tanks, renew sewage system piping, preserve superstructure, repairs to air conditioning system, composite labor rate, GFP report and travel and per diem. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualifications procedures.
