- 17.The Government intends to enter into a firm-fixed-price contract with Motorola Corporation, 7031 Columbia Gatewate Drive, Columbia, Maryland 21048. The Directorate of Contracting (DOC), Fort Campbell, KY, has a requirement for Maintenance Support for the Land Mobile Radio Ancillary System/Installation Early Warning Siren System/Campbell Army Airfield and Sable Heliport Air Crash System, Fort Campbell, KY. Performance period will be for a base year and three (3) 12-months option periods. The procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The basis for restricting competition is that Motorola is the manufacturer of the equipment and has proprietary rights to the equipment, boards, and software. The ancillary equipment within this requirement are sub-systems of the existing Motorola trunked radio system. NAICS code for this procurement is 811213 and the small business size standard is $6.5M. This sole source requirement will be procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition, and awarded on an unrestricted basis. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and solicitation will not be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 10 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion for the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Motorola Corporation. Responses are due by 12 June 2009, 3:00 P.M. (CST).
