Description
RECOVERY--THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER W91QF409R0020. RECOVERY TAS::21 2022::TAS - The Mission & Installation Contracting Command Fort Leavenworth, 600 Thomas Ave, Fort Leavenworth, KS, 66027 intends to issue a solicitation for repairs to building 52, the Clock Tower. The NAICS code for this project is 238140, Masonry Contractors. The Federal Service Code is Z199, Maintenance, repair, and alteration of miscellaneous buildings. The small business size standard is $14 million. The Place of Contract Performance is Fort Leavenworth, KS 66027. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed price contract with a 365-day period of performance. The magnitude of this project is between $1 and $5 million. Building 52 is a three-story tall building (without the bell tower) and is approximately 328 feet long with wings about 35 feet wide. The clock tower we are repairing is located at the center of the long side of the building, is approximately 18 feet square, and extends approximately 87 feet above the center roof. The requirements for this project are as follows: Replacement of the existing outer wythe of brick with a wythe of custom sized brick; removal, replication and replacement of the copper dome and wood structure beneath; repairs and selected replacement of the stone masonry; replacement of the aircraft warning light and miscellaneous other repairs. This building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places within a National Landmark District; therefore Contractor Qualifications will be strictly enforced. The Contractor will be an experienced firm regularly engaged in historic masonry restoration and cleaning, and experienced in producing decorative formed metal similar to that indicated for this Project. The Contractor shall have a record of successful in-service performance, as well as sufficient production capacity to complete the project on time. This requirement is Subject to the Availability of Funds. This Request for Proposal (RFP) will be posted under Solicitation Number W91QF4-09-0020.
