Description
This is a Sources Sought Synopsis announcement; a market survey for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. USPFO for Virginia Contracting Office is reviewing potential sources for the establishment of an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract for a full-line food distributor that will provide food distribution support, including but not limited to, fresh and/or frozen meats and poultry, frozen seafood, fresh, canned and frozen vegetables, semi perishable products, condiments and other subsistence items necessary for delivery of food products to units/activities of the Virginia National Guard. Normally, monthly deliveries are required at armories and training sites throughout the State of Virginia. However, deliveries may be required at military training sites in adjacent States. The period of contract performance shall consist of a one (1) year base period with four (4) one-year option periods, with the base year beginning on 01 September 2009. The vendor will be required to split cases predicated on items required by the individual delivery order. In addition, the contractor will be required to operate out of the Troop Issue Subsistence Activity warehouse located at Fort Pickett, Blackstone, VA in performance of this contract. All contractors interested in performing these services must submit a written response to this office (USPFO for Virginia, Building 316, Fort Pickett, Blackstone, VA 23824) by June 16, 2009 5:00 pm, EST. The responses shall include 1) municipality in which your business is located; 2) identification of the appropriate business classification (to include HubZone or SDVOSB, or small business using NAICS code is 722310 @ $20.5 million.), 3) past experience; to include a brief description of similar services performed 4) capability to provide services and 5) a statement verifying that the contractor will physically perform at least 50% of the work. This is NOT a request for proposal and does not constitute any commitment by the contractor or Government to perform these services. Responses to this notice will only be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions.
