- This announcement is a Sources Sought Notice. This is not a request for proposal and no award will be made as a result of this announcement. The information received as a result of this announcement will be used for market research purposes. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Minneapolis is seeking preliminary marketing information from prospective contractors to recommend solutions to meet their goal to replace and expand the use of Barcode Medication Administration (BCMA) carts throughout the facility. At MVAMC, BCMA carts provide two primary functions: a mobile cart which provides an efficient means of organizing medications and supplies (e.g., cups, syringes) in transporting them to the patients and a point-of-care technology-based medication administration recording system. The scope of the project includes but is not limited to: A. Provide the following point-of-care technology based hardware required to support the MVAMC's BCMA Application: 1.Dell 610 Laptop 2.HHP 4620 - Barcode Scanner with holder/charger 3.17" LCD Display 4.Washable and/or sterilize able Mouse 5.Washable and/or sterilize able Keyboard B. The BCMA Cart shall provide the following features: 1.Work Surface - Cart shall provide a stable, easily cleanable work surface for organizing work and documents. Work surface can be stow-able, but not required. 2.Height Adjustable - Cart shall be adjustable in height to allow for users in sitting or standing position. 3.Keyboard Drawer - Cart shall provide a retractable drawer for keyboard and mouse. State the availability of option to include a light source for the keyboard when cart is being used in a dark room. 4.Medication Drawers - Cart shall provide keyless, lock-able medication drawers that are configurable to provide adequate, safe storage of medications and supplies. At least two levels of access (standard user and master) shall be provided and managed with different, configurable access codes. 5.Monitor Mount - Cart shall include a monitor support system that allows users to change position of monitor vertically and horizontally.
