- FedBizOpps Notice: Document Type: Sources Sought Notice Solicitation Number: AB133F-09-RQ-0683 Posted Date: June 05, 2009 Original Response Date: June 15, 2009 NAICS Code: 334519 Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing Description This is a Source Sought only. The purpose of this synopsis is to obtain capabilities information from all size and types of firms to determine the degree of competition. Information received will be used to make a determination regarding the use of full and open competition or to set aside the procurement. No solicitation exists at this time; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps. The anticipated contract will be a firm fixed-price IDIQ contract for services. It will include a base period with four optional periods will be issued contract for services. The National Marine Fisheries Services, Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center, requires follow-on services for maintenance and calibration services, replacement parts, and equipment for specialized oceanographic instrumentation capable of prolonged deployment at ocean depths of 300+ meters. Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center has an installed base of over 400 oceanographic instruments manufactured by Seabird Electronics (SBE) which collect conductivity, temperature, depth, wave, tide, and other data. Instruments from this inventory are constantly being deployed, recovered, re-calibrated, serviced, and then re-deployed at remote islands and atolls of the U.S. Pacific. Vendors are required to be a certified representative authorized to work on Seabird Electronics manufactured oceanographic instrumentation products. Interested parties should submit: 1) a brief description of their capability to provide the required cable, 2) Provide evidence that you are a certified representative authorized to work on Seabird Electronics manufactured oceanographic instrumentation products, 3) evidence of experience and past performance (including a contact name and telephone number), 4) intention to submit a proposal as a prime contractor, and 5) business company size, point of contact and DUNS number. The business size shall include any applicable preference program (i.e., 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Small Business, etc.) For the purposes of this requirement, the NAICS size standard for small business is 334519, 500 Employees.
