Description

The U. S. Maritime Administration's, Division of Atlantic Operations will solicit quotations to provide and deliver one reverse osmosis type water making unit rated at not less than 60 metric tons per day to the Training Ship State of Maine located at the Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, ME 04420. The unit shall be capable of operating in sea water temperatures from 38 to 95 deg F. The units design criteria shall be for a shipboard installation and therefore, in conformance with all requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping and the U.S. Coast Guard. The 60 metric ton per day rating is based on a product output TDS of not greater than 500 ppm utilizing a sea water feed temperature of 77 deg F with a TDS of 38,000 ppm. This 60 metric ton per day rating shall be achieved in its installed state aboard the T.S. State of Maine without the use of any chemicals injected into the feed line. The unit (or individual components of the unit) shall be delivered in separate modules with dimensions small enough to fit through an opening measuring 84 inches in length, 68 inches in height and 50 inches in width. These modules shall be constructed in a manner which will permit an easy re-assembly. Delivery is required by October 1, 2009
