- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, will host an Industry Conference on Wednesday, June 17 to discuss the major upcoming construction projects for the greater New Orleans Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System. USACE representatives from Project Management, Construction, and Contracting teams will be present to discuss significant unrestricted contracts for the Lake Pontchartrain & Vicinity and West Bank & Vicinity Projects. Members of the engineering, design, construction and project management industries are encouraged to attend the conference being held at the New Orleans Marriott Metairie at Lakeway hotel, 3838 N. Causeway Blvd., from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The conference will promote an open dialogue between USACE representatives and industry leaders regarding several topics, with a main focus on the requirements and demands of upcoming construction contract awards. Subject matter experts will be on hand to answer questions pertaining to construction contracting methods, with an emphasis on Best Value and contract durations. In addition, the conference will address the Corps of Engineers expectations and goals for construction, with welcomed input from industry. All those interested in attending the conference are encouraged to register for this event at www.fbo.gov as an interested vendor. Non-registered guests will be admitted.
