- This is a pre-solicitation notice for a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supervision to perform modifications to a hydronic geothermal HVAC system which services a 20,000 SF building on the campus of the park's Environmental Education Center. The building includes an event auditorium as well as classrooms which are utilized 5 days a week. Some work will need to be coordinated around events in the auditorium. The system experienced a complete failure of its pumps and piping after overheating. The modifications will include but are not limited to installation of two new heat pumps, new circulation pumps, modifications to the electrical, new copper piping, and automatic shut-offs. The contractor must be experienced in the installation, maintenance and repair of hydronic geothermal HVAC systems.The project performance period is 30 days after issuance of the notice to proceed. The government estimate for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The NAICS code is 238220. The small business size standard is $14.0 million. This project is being solicited and awarded in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Public Law 100-656. Accordingly, it is open to both small and large businesses. The solicitation including plans, specifications, wage rates, and bid schedule will be posted to the websites http://www.fedbizopps.gov and http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about June 25, 2009. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed or issued. To receive the solicitation package you must download it from http://ideasec.nbc.gov.
