Furthermore, any materials provided will not be evaluated for any subsequent award. This sources sought is issued for the sole purpose of conducting market research in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. This effort is to seek information on qualified HUBZONES, 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and Small Business. The Government is seeking information on Shelter Kits for FEMA in the event of an emergency. See attached product list. Contractor shall provide shelter kits for FEMA to purchase, as needed, based on requirements set forth by the FEMA Headquarters ESF #6 Mass Care/Emergency Assistance Unit. Each kit is designed to support a shelter with a population of 100 persons. All Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses, certified HUBZone Small Businesses, Certified 8(a), Small Disadvantaged Businesses and Small Businesses are encouraged to respond. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. One of the main functions of this Sources Sought is to assist the Contracting Officer in determining whether a HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Small Business Set-aside or an 8(a) is an acceptable acquisition strategy for an anticipated procurement. If a full and open competition is ultimately pursued, responses to this sources sought will be used to aid in establishing small business subcontracting goals. The Government anticipates the release of the request for quote (RFQ) on June 30, 2009 and award in July, 23, 2009. The appropriate NAICS Code is 624230 (Emergency and Other Relief Services). It is requested that interested parties submit a brief capabilities package. This capability package shall address, at a minimum the following: 1. Examples of projects worked within the last five years of similar size, scope and complexity as the work indicated. Indicate whether your firm worked as a prime or subcontractor, contract value, brief description of how the referenced contract relates to the work described, and a Government/Agency point of contact. 2. Any commercial brochures or currently existing marketing material may also be submitted with the capabilities package. Submission of a capabilities package is not a prerequisite to any potential future offerings, but participation will assist the The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in tailoring requirements that are consistent with the industry capabilities.
