Description: The Contracting Center of Excellence, CCE intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Wright Experience, Inc., P.O. Box 3365, Warrenton, VA. 20188 to purchase one (1) 1908 Wright Flyer Model A airplane, Simulator and Wind Tunnel in accordance with the following specifications for the National Museum of the United States Army Project Office. No solicitation will be issued. All responsible sources may identify their interest and submit a written capabilities package to the Point of Contact Contract Specialist, Linda Jackson at: linda.jackson@hqda.army.mil within ten (10) days of this notice, See Note 22. Notice of Intent to Award Requisition No. W74R7L-9133-0001-000 The Contracting Center of Excellence (CCE) on behalf of the National Museum of the United States Army Project Office intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source. The contract will be awarded to the Wright Experience, Inc., P.O. Box 3365, Warrenton, VA. 20188, to purchase One (1) l908 Wright Flyer Model A Airplane, One (1) Simulator and One (1) Wright Brothers Wind Tunnel reproduction with a 5-year maintenance and warranty agreement on all three (3) items. This action will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract. The simulator and wind Tunnel specifications are as follows for information purposes only: Simulator The flight simulator is an education device that includes a set of controls that duplicates those of the actual 1908 Wright Flyer Model A and includes provisions for access by handicapped to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The flight characteristics of the simulated aircraft must duplicate as closely as possible those of the actual 1908 Wright Flyer Model A. The simulator must include the software and license to use, the computer, the set of controls simulating the Wright Flyer Model A cockpit and control adaptors for the handicapped. The simulator is 6 ft x 4 ft plus whatever size screen or projector is purchased to be used with the simulator. Wind Tunnel The wind tunnel is a 1901-1902 reproduction of the Wright Brothers wind tunnel with slight modifications for accessibility, visitor safety and compliance with the American with Disabilities Act. It is 8 ft long x 2 ft wide x 6 ft high. This announcement is in accordance with FAR 5.101 (a) (1).
