Description
In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the 'Act'), Public Law 111-5, this notice is provided for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), intends to modify Contract No. 08CRCN0006 with Nanometrics, Inc., to include Act related provisions, which are incorporated into the contract via Modification 2. The requirement described below is within scope of the subject contract specifications, which was originally awarded on a competitive basis. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE INCUMBENT CONTRACTOR. The Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS) is a major national initiative to serve the needs of the earthquake monitoring, engineering and research communities as well as national, state, and local governments, emergency response organizations, and the general public. In part, these needs will be met through the deployment of a multi-tiered network of digital seismic recorders and sensors that make it possible to record motions over wide ranges of amplitude and frequency. The method used for this acquisition was full and open competition. The maximum dollar amount shall not exceed $3.2 million over the life of the contract, including all option years. Delivery orders will be issued on a firm, fixed-price basis. The period of performance is a base year of twelve months and two twelve month option periods. This contract is currently in Option Year One with a period of performance of 10/01/2008 through 09/30/2009. The place of performance is Ontario, Canada. Full or partial funding for requirements to be completed by resultant delivery orders, may utilize funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Action of 2009. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by Nanometrics, Inc., will be incorporated into this contract by Modification Two. (ATN# ARRA-SE0002i)
