Description
The purpose of this modification is to provide industry submitted questions and Government answers. Q1. We understand that the C15 ET Trainer will be mounted on a mobile stand. Can you provide clarification concerning the fidelity of the trainer driver's position? For example, does the vehicle instrument panel, accelerator, etc. have to be mounted in a mockup of the LVSR driver's position to the correct height, etc.? Does the stand have to contain a mockup of the LVSR engine compartment, etc? A1. The drivers position, correct height, etc does not have to replicate the exact LVSR dash position, height, etc. However, the configuration of the instruments on the "dash" need to replicate the LVSR dash (as stated in the SPEC 3.3.6). IE: the layout of the instruments on the actual LVSR dash shall be replicated on the LVSR engine trainer "dash / control panel". Q2. The GFP list indicates that there will be 12 engines and transmissions provided. Is the suite of 12 engines/transmissions considered one trainer - or - each engine/transmission considered a trainer? A2. Each engine/transmission will be used to create an individual trainer (ie: 12 engine/transmissions = 12 trainers) Q3. See Paragraph 3.3.10.1 of the Performance Spec. This paragraph indicates that there are twelve faults to be inserted. Are all twelve faults to be inserted into each engine/transmission -or- are the faults to be distributed throughout the 12 engines/transmissions provided? In other words, each engine/transmission would have its own unique fault. A3. There will be 12 injectable faults on each trainer. Q4. See Paragraph 3.10.1 of the Performance Spec. This paragraph indicates the trainer shall support training a maximum of 4 students concurrently per C15 ET trainer. Does this mean a max of 4 students each engine/transmission or max 4 students for all 12 engine/transmissions? A4. 4 students per trainer (ie: 48 students for 12 trainers)
