Description
1. Description: Task Force Safety Action for Fire and Electrical (TF SAFE) seeks one (1) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for National Electric Code (NEC) Compliance. SME must meet strict criteria to include: e xperience with electrical inspection/repair and with plan/design reviews for code compliance; Master Electrician Certifications from multiple states or municipalities within the U.S.; International Building Code and International Code Council Certifications; a current U.S. SECRET security clearance or higher; and specialized experience working for the United States in Iraq since 2003 as either a contractor, military member, or government civilian directly engaged in matters dealing with electricity and electrical standards provided by or for the U.S. Government in Iraq. 2. Background: TF SAFE was established by Multi-National Forces-Iraq (MNF-I) to address concern regarding deaths due to electrocution and the incidents of other shocks. TF SAFE will, through immediate and long term measures, significantly reduce the number of fire and electrical incidents throughout the theater to improve the safety of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Civilians. This mission includes a requirement to inspect the electrical installation of facilities in the Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR). The CENTCOM AOR includes but is not limited to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. 3. This procurement is not set-aside for small businesses. 4. Place of contract performance: SME may work remotely but will be required to travel to the CENTCOM AOR, Washington DC, and Rock Island, IL several times during contract performance as outlined in the Performance Work Statement. 5. Estimated date that solicitation will be posted on FBO is 15 June 2009.
