- On or about 30 June 2009, this office will issue Request for Proposals for design and construction of the FY2009 Fire Station, Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. The solicitation will close on or about 30 July 2009. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED AND OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. The North American Industry Classification System code for this project is 236220 with a size standard of $33,500,000 in average gross annual receipts for the past 3 fiscal years. The estimated design and construction cost of this project is between 10 and 15 million dollars. A site visit is scheduled on 14 July 2009 at 1300 hours (local time). Contractors interested in inspecting the site should contact Mr. Trev Albright, Resident Engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, (701) 727-6127. All inquiries for registration should be made a minimum of 7 work days in advance of the scheduled site visit to coordinate base access and place of assembly. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See Obtaining Solicitation Documents below. ______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description (Approx. quantities) Design and construct a 30,343 SF consolidated crash/structural Fire Station to house fire protection vehicles, equipment, personnel, alarm center, and all support areas at Grand Forks AFB, ND. The Fire Station building will be of masonry construction with sloped standing seam metal roof and will include underground utilities and communications infrastructure, pavements, emergency vehicle access roads, parking lot, landscaping, wetlands mitigation, and demolition of existing fire station building and a maintenance building which includes asbestos/lead removal and site restoration. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the design, design reviews and construction work within 690 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required.
