Description
SPECIFICATIONS and CLARIFICATIONS. The information within this amendment and the drawings are the only specifications to be considered. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has a requirement for 20,000 each Sprinkler Stakes with Clamp Assemblies (NFES #0913) and an additional 500 each Clamp Assemblies (NFES #0726). The Clamp Assemblies consist of a V-shaped bolt, 2 wing nuts, and a flat bar with two holes. Refer to the drawings posted at www.FedConnect.net. The Sprinkler Stakes and Clamp Assemblies are used with a sprinkler kit for Wildland Fire protection. The holes required in the stakes are to allow the stakes to be nailed to buildings or trees. The wing nuts can be of a regular galvanized finish. All other components may be made from a mild steel and shall have a 1.5-2mm Safety Orange Powder Coated Finish with the exception of the threads on the V-shaped bolts. Deburring shall be required to the extent of make the powder coating effect (i.e. not easily chipped). The final product must meet the drawing specification, 1 inch by 1 inch at a 90 degree angle, the same as angle iron. The V-shaped bolt shall be able to fit through the holes of the flat bars, however they are not required to fit through the holes of the stakes. The wing nuts shall be able to be threaded onto the V-shaped bolts. The items can be packed and shipped in such a manner to allow normal shipping and handling, in accordance with standard commercial practice. The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage or loss that may occur during shipping. All boxes shall be marked with quantities packaged within. A First Article is required as identifed under FAR Clause 52.209-4. The delivery shall meet the following schedule: a partial delivery of 10,000 each Stake with Clamp Assemblies by July 15, 2009 and the remaining 10,000 each Stakes with Clamp Assemblies and the Additional Clamp Assemblies by August 5, 2009; however the vendors may propose an accelerated delivery schedule as identified under FAR Clause 52.212-02 Evaluation - Commercial Items.
