Description
This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for Market Research. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine (NLM) is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources that may be interested in and capable of performing the work described herein. NLM welcomes comments from all individuals on each or all of these questions. It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine to procure licenses for Bakbone software. This software is needed to backup critical server data to tape. Items: Enterprise for Solaris (SPARC) 1 100 Pak Heterogeneous Clients (Linux/ Unix/ Windos/ MAC. Netware*) 2 126 Media Slot Support Upgrade 1 Tier-D NAS NDMP Server 1 Tier-C NAS NDMP Server 1 Tier-B NAS NDMP Server 1 Tier-A NAS NDMP Server 6 50 Media Slots 1 One Year Product Upgrades and Support 1 The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 12 in accordance with the policies and procedures under FAR Part 13- Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The period of performance will be for one year from the date of the award. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which will be considered by the National Library of Medicine. This Sources Sought notice is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available. Interested firms responding to this sources sought notice must adhere to the following: (a) Provide a capability statement demonstrating relevant experience, skills and ability to fulfill the Government's requirements for the above. The capability statement should contain enough sufficient detail for the Government to make an informed decision regarding your capabilities, however, the statement should not exceed 10 pages. (b) All respondents are asked to indicate the type and size of your business organization, e.g., Large Business, Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, Women-Owned Business, 8(a), Historically Black College or University/Minority Institution (HBCU/MI), educational institution, profit/non-profit hospital, or other nonprofit organization, in their response. The Government encourages small businesses to respond to this notice. (c) All capability statements must be submitted electronically no later than 2:00pm eastern standard time on Thursday June 25, 2009 to Ryan Singletary ryan.singletary@nih.gov
