Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate and issue a sole source award for the purchase of 18 female pigtail macaques that are SIV, SRV, STLV negative at least 3 years old and over 5 kg in weight with the University of Emory/Yerkes National Primate Research Center. The anticipated period of performance will be fourteen months from the award date. The University of Emory/Yerkes National Primate Research Center is the only source to provide the specific quantity, type, and critical timeframe deemed necessary by CDC. CDC intends to negotiate this requirement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Subpart 13 procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. All responses should be received by June 30, 2009, at 10 AM, Eastern Standard Time (EST). All responses must be in writing and can be sent via email to bbv9@cdc.gov. No phone calls will be accepted.
