Description
This Pre-Solicitation Notice is to seek 8A, Hub-Zone or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses to acquire labor, transportation, supervision, material and equipment to perform all operations in connection with the Force Main Rehabilitation at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Illinois. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION BUT A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTIFICATION. NAICS Code is 237110. Work involves rehabilitating 1,060 linear feet of 18 inch ductile iron force main and shall utilize Insituform Reinforced Pressure Pipe lining technology. The force main's normal operating pressure is 50 psi, with peak pressures of 75 psi. In addition, the force main ranges in depth from 5 to 11 feet. The section of force main to be lined also contains 5 bends from 22 degrees to 90 degrees. The product desired to be used for this rehabilitation project must be designed specially for pressure pipe applications and shall be commercially proven. Interested contractors shall submit pipe design information (including tube construction) to the Navy which demonstrates the products ability to withstand the pressures indicated above. To be considered commercially proven, a minimum of 40,000 linear feet of successful pressure pipe cured in place pipe installation of the product shall be documented to the satisfaction of the Navy. The Contractor shall also have a minimum of five years active experience in the commercial installation of pressure rated cured in place pipe products in pressure pipe applications. Documentation supporting the above will be required by the Navy. If interested, please submit the required supporting documentation and a letter from the Small Business Administration certifying your organization as 8A or Hub-Zone or proof of Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business to mary.rankin@navy.mil before June 26, 2009, 2:00pm (Central Time).
