Description
PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE TIMEFRAME SHORTENED. SOLICITATION AVAILABLE: 22 JUNE 2009 BIDS DUE: 22 JULY 2009 THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT Project Description - The entire work for this contract consists of dredging two locations as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). All ARRA funds must be expended by 30 September 2010. The first location of work, Part 1, consists of dredging Pagan River by bucket or clamshell dredge and transport of dredged material by bottom dumping barges and scows and placement in the Craney Island Rehandling Basin at the Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area. The work consists of dredging to a depth of 7 feet below Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) with 2 feet of allowable overdepth. Total estimated amount of material to be dredged, including allowable overdepth and estimated accretion, is 65,000 cubic yards. All work must be completed and accepted at the Pagan River location before moving to the next location. The next location of work, Part 2, consists of dredging the Hampton Creek and Herberts Creek Channel by bucket or clamshell dredge and transport of dredged material by bottom dumping barges and scows and placement in the Craney Island Rehandling Basin at the Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area. The work consists of dredging to a depth of 12 feet below Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) with 2 feet of allowable overdepth. Total estimated amount of material to be dredged, including allowable overdepth and estimated accretion, is 55,000 cubic yards. CLIN 0001 - P art 1, Maintenance Dredging Pagan - Begin performance within 15 calendar days and complete all work within 120 calendar days of receipt of Notice To Proceed (NTP). CLIN 0002 - Part 2, Maintenance Dredging Hampton Creek and Herbert's Creek - Begin performance within 15 calendar days and complete all work within 75 calendar days of receipt of Notice To Proceed (NTP). LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: $400.00 per day MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION: $1,000,000.00 - $2,500,000.00 A SUBCONTRACTING PLAN IS REQUIRED.
