- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dockside and repairs to the USCGC EAGLE (WIX-327). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations FAR PART 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The acquisition will be solicited HUBZONE SET-ASIDE. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value. Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if required. Send all request via e-mail to Arlene.V.Woodley@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option automatic notification service. The standard industrial classification code is 3731 and the NAICS code is 336611. The homeport of the vessel is Fort Trumbull State, Pier 90 Walbach Street, New London, CT 06320. All work will be performed at the vessel’s homeport. The performance period will be 40 calendar days with a start date on or about October 5, 2009. The scope of the acquisition is as follows: 1)Renew Structural Closures 2)Renew Handrail 01 Deck Fantail 3)Renew Life Raft Support Brackets 4)Renew Exhaust Stack Partial 5)Clean Laundry Ventilation Systems 6)Clean Galley & Scullery Ventilation Systems 7)Overhaul and Renew Vaneaxial Fans and Motor Assemblies 8)Clean, Inspect and Test Hot Water Accumulator Tank 9)Perform Crescent Boat Davit Maintenance 10)Perform Vertical Capstan Maintenance 11)Modify Oily Water Separator System Discharge Piping 12)Renew Padeyes for Foremast Backstays Partial 13)Renew Passage Way Deck Covering System 14)Clean and Inspect Emergency Diesel Generator In-Place 15)Renew Teak Caulk 16)Perform Ultrasonic Thickness Measurements 17)Renew Electrical Grade Deck Covering System 18)Preserve Gallows 19)Renew #1 A/C Sea Strainer Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
