Description
A-10 TRAINING SYSTEMS INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT EVENT OVERVIEW The A-10 Training Systems program office from the Ogden Air Logistics Center's 507 Aircraft Sustainment Squadron (507 ACSS) will be hosting a four-day Industry Day event at the Mesa TSSC and the new Davis Monthan TSSC from July 14-17. The event will be held between 0730 and 1700 each day. The purpose of this event is to present interested parties with the opportunity to gain familiarity with the A-10 Training Systems Support Center (TSSC)in preparation for release of a Request for Proposal for Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for the simulators and trainers. EVENT SCHEDULE Tuesday, 14 July 2009 will begin with a program overview presented by the 507 ACSS followed by a brief open forum question and answer session. The first day's activities will conclude with a guided tour of the AFRL and LM commercial buildings located at Mesa AZ followed again by an open forum of question and answer session. Wednesday, 15 July 2009 through the morning of Thursday, 16 July 2009 is reserved for one-on-one discussions. One-on-One discussions will be scheduled at the time of RSVP and will be limited to 30 minutes to one hour discussions pending time scheduling. On Thursday afternoon, we will relocate to Davis Monthon AFB to begin day four. Friday 17 July 2009 parallel tours will be conducted for the A-10 FMT Ops trainer facility and the new TSSC building. Industry Day will conclude Friday at 1200. One-on-one sessions, Government areas of interest for discussion include but are not limited to: Management: Training system development and support to include fabrication, software development, integration, installation and production management; configuration management and documentation processes; Quality Assurance (QA) programs, processes and initiatives; Lean or Lean Sigma processes; Obsolescence issues resolution and initiatives; Modification management processes; Meeting short term requirements i.e. accelerated schedules and/or surge requirements; Deficiency/Problem Report resolution processes; Obtaining DoD Security and Clearance requirement Technical Capabilities: Software development and integration; CMMI and ISO 9000 certification; Meeting trainer aircraft concurrency requirements such as operational flight plan updates, aircraft communication modifications, radar modernization, etc.; Visual systems, communication and navigation systems, motion, and mission generation; Training system maintenance and technical knowledge; Discrepancy resolution; Capacity to support on-site field operations Facility: TSSC facility management Any comments provided should not be viewed as a vehicle for presenting a specific approach to be proposed but as an opportunity to improve an eventual solicitation package. This does not constitute a request for proposal. To ensure everyone has access to the same information, non-proprietary questions and answers and meeting minutes will be recorded and placed on the web (FedBizOps) following the event. Security requirements will need to be met for attendees. All AFRL visitors must have a SECRET clearance and be US citizens as well. For those with access to JPAS, the code for AFRL is LY1MFSD85. For all others, US VISIT CERTS (Recommened for all visits and must do action item at classified levels) submit name, rank, SSN, date/type of security clearance and length of stay requested, signed by unit security manager via letter or DD FORM 2875 and mailed to the address below or faxed to 480-988-2868, DSN 474-6286. In addition to interested parties visiting AFRL, please provide full name, address, rank, security clearance level, citizenship, organization and address. THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN 1 JULY 2009. EVENT REGISTRATION Interested parties must RSVP no later than 26 June 2009. Attendance is limited to no more than three (3) individual attendees per interested company. Participants are highly encouraged, but not required to make hotel reservations at the San Marcos Resort as meetings will be held there. The website for hotel reservations is www.sanmarcosresort.com. Registration will be open effective 26 June 2009. Guests will phone in their reservation requests as well as using Passkey. It is important that each Industry Day attendee contact the hotel at least fourteen (14) days prior to Industry Day start date (by 1 July 2009 and identify themselves as part of the A-10 FMT group and provide them with guest name, type of room, check-in and check-out dates, and VIP status. Additional event information such as visit request procedures and directions to the meeting location will be provided to each company expressing intent to attend this event. Interested parties are encouraged to present questions to the program office in advance of the event to optimize the event's question and answer session. Program office receipt of questions on or before 8 July 2009 will facilitate a thorough response.
