- This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought notice for the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center (PVAMC). The purpose of this notice is to identify potential sources for providing registered nurse services (dialysis) to initiate and discontinue Continuous Veno-Venous Hemo-Dialysis (CVVHD) consistent with each physician's order for therapy. This notice does not commit the government to issue a solicitation or make an award. The description herein is a summary of the required services and is not intended to be all-inclusive. Please note the acquisition strategy for this procurement has not been finalized and is subject to change based on the responses received from the Sources Sought notice. Requirement Description: The Philadelphia VAMC has a new requirement for 24 hour per day, 365 day per year "on call" registered nurse (RN) services coverage to initiate and discontinue CVVHD. The required response time from notification to the on-call nurse or vendor until treatment is initiated by the contract nurse is thirty (30) minutes. The RNs provided by the contractor shall meet the following requirements: licensed in any state or Puerto Rico, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification, and the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently. The RNs provided by the contractor shall provide the following prior to beginning work at the PVAMC: a resume, transcripts, current nursing license, current ACLS, current competencies in CVVHD, physical examination including PPD, social security card, picture identification, proof of citizenship, and complete the online VetPro application process. Once verified in VetPro, contract RN will complete fingerprinting, receive access badges, and complete orientation. The PVAMC will continue to be the primary care provider for patients receiving treatment. PVAMC will provide all pharmacy items, lab work, diagnostic tests, medications, dialysate fluids, equipment and supplies or any other products or services related to patients receiving treatment. The place of performance will be the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Medical Intensive Care Unit at the PVAMC. Contractor shall be paid for "on-call" and/or actual hours worked on-site.
