- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE MULTIPLE AWARD CONTRACT CONTRACTORS UNDER THE EXISTING ELLSWORTH AFB 8(A) MACC IDIQ CONTRACT. REPAIR HANGAR DOOR SEALS, PRIDE HANGAR, BLDG 7504 AND REPAIR HANGAR DOOR SEALS DOCK 90, BLDG 7230, AND DOCK 91, BLDG 7232. REPAIR HANGAR DOOR SEALS, PRIDE HANGAR, BLDG 7504: Investigate, design and install new weather stripping on all exterior doors, personnel doors, overhead doors, tail doors, and hangar doors on the PRIDE Hangar, Building 7504 on Ellsworth AFB. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the following: S-1 Install new and remove existing weather stripping on all exterior doors for Building 7504, PRIDE Hangar. S-2 Work to include the weather stripping of existing large inoperative hangar doors. Weather stripping of the hangar doors cannot permanently prevent future use of the doors. S-3 The door modifications shall be designed and plans signed by a registered architect or engineer in the State of South Dakota. S-4 All exposed metal parts of any weather stripping shall be painted to match adjacent color. S-5 Hangar doors consist of insulated panels and windows. Numerous panels are rusted. Contractor is to investigate and design a fix to patch these panels to eliminate air infiltration. Where glass lites have been broken and replaced with various panels, the Contractor is to replace glass. S-6 All hangar door glass lites are to be cleaned inside and out. S-7 The hangar door seals between doors can be added to in order to eliminate air infiltration. Stripping shall consist of two metal side brackets with a raised rubber bellows attached to the brackets. The brackets shall be attached to the structure and door and sealed to prevent moisture, air infiltration and insect penetration. Remove existing weather stripping if required. Other seals equal to or greater than seals supplied by JACOR Inc. S-8 The Contractor shall be responsible for temporary weatherproofing any opening in the hangar doors during construction. S-9 The exterior bottom of the hangar doors shall be permanently sealed (allow removal if doors were to be made operable) by installing a permanent weather stripping attached to the door and the slab. Contractor shall design best method of sealing. Remove existing weather stripping if required for propoer installation of the new weather stripping. There is an existing door track to deal with. S-10 The facility has several overhead doors, some mounted into the hangar doors; others are located in exterior walls. Contractor shall install new weather stripping on the top, sides and bottom of these doors. S-11 Replace all weather stripping at all personnel doors. S-12 Investigate/design/install weather stripping to tail doors. S-13 The facility walls currently have numerous penetrations caused by corrosion and past penetrations. The contractor shall investigate the facility and design a fix to seal the penetrations including broken windows in exterior walls. Paint any newly installed siding patches to match adjacent paint color. The penetration seals will be paid for based on the number of locations in accordance with item 0007 on the bid schedule. S-14 Contractor to investigate/design/install additional aluminum doors to meet requirement of the IBC 06. The requirement would be based on approximately 90,000 square feet (25,000 square feet used for assembly with bleachers and 65,000 square feet used for exercise). Color to match existing aluminum doors. INSTALLATION I-1 The weather stripping shall be installed per manufacturer's requirements. REPAIR HANGAR DOOR SEALS DOCK 90, BLDG 7230, AND DOCK 91, BLDG 7232: Investigate, design and install the weather stripping on all exterior doors, personnel doors, overhead doors, hangar doors, and aircraft fuselage door on two existing hangars on Ellsworth AFB. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the following: S-1 Install new and remove any old weather stripping on all exterior doors for Building 7230 (Dock 90) and Building 7232 (Dock 91). S-2 The project requires all exterior doors to be investigated, corrective action designed and constructed. Work includes personnel doors, overhead doors, hangar doors, and an aircraft fuselage door which seals around the back of the aircraft. S-3 Brush type not allowed on bottom of hangar doors S-4 All exposed metal parts of any weather stripping shall be painted to match adjacent color. S-5 The design and repair for the aircraft fuselage door may require adjustments to the door as well as correcting the weather stripping. S-6 All of the doors are required to remain operational during and upon completion of the weather stripping project. S-7 The contractor shall be responsible for any temporary weatherproofing of exterior opening during construction. S-8 The weather stripping between the hangar doors (where hangar doors meet each other) does not require complete replacement or new install; however, bid schedule requires a LF price to replace if required.
