Description: THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER W912HZ-09-P-0263. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center, Vicksburg, MS intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to The MathWorks, Inc., Natick, MA. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. MathWorks, Inc is the only known source capable of meeting the Governments requirements due to the proprietary nature of the product. The purchase of other software would adversely impact the Governments missions requirements and be cost prohibitive. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later that 12:00noon CST on 23 June 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Interested parties may submit any information for consideration by the Government to Elizabeth.j.Kelley@usace.army.mil with MatLab referenced in the subject line.
