- RECOVERY ACT RFP VA263-09-RA-0247 Z - CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - REPLACE CONDENSATE RETURN PUMP TRAPS - PHASE I Description:This project will be the replacement of (2) two condensate return pump traps and accessories in various buildings at the VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN 55417 A.Location #1, Room BJ-103, Building 70, VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN. See drawing #1. 1.Remove existing pump trap and fittings. 2.Furnish and install (1) one condensate return pump trap and accessories. 3.Trap shall be constructed of carbon steel with stainless steel internals. Condensate return pump trap shall be Armstrong Condensate Management Group Model PT412 3"x2", or approved equal. 4.Provide and install a complete package with accessories to include: a)One external 2" stainless steel check valve b)One external 3" stainless steel check valve c)One 2" F & T Trap d)One air regulator e)One 2" Y-strainer f)Gauge glass option g)One 2" brass, full-port isolation valve h)One 3" brass, full-port isolation valve 5.Modify piping as required to allow fit of new pump trap. 6.Install pump trap bolt down bolts/studs into the existing concrete floor. 7.Install new products according to manufacturer's specifications and installation instructions. 8.Install isolation valves to allow complete shut off of lines serving pump trap to allow for future service. Coordinate locations with COTR. 9.Insulate all piping. 10.Test pump trap for proper operation. B.Location #2, Basement, Room 24, Building 49, VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN. See drawing #2. 1.Remove existing pump trap and fittings. 2.Furnish and install (1) one condensate return pump trap and accessories. 3.Trap shall be constructed of carbon steel with stainless steel internals. Condensate return pump trap shall be Armstrong Condensate Management Group Model PT412 3"x2", or approved equal. Coordinate locations with COTR. 8.Insulate all piping. 9.Test pump trap for proper operation. 10.Provide and install (1) one submersible sump pump. Sump pump shall be automatic submersible type, HP, 115v, 1 " discharge. Little Giant Pump Co., Model number 10E-CIA-RFS, or approved equal. Coordinate location of sump pump with COTR prior to placement. 11.Provide 1 " cast iron discharge pipe to nearest open floor drain. Nearest floor drain is approximately 5' to the East. 12.Provide (1) one new 20 amp electrical circuit with a single receptacle in a 4" box for the sump pump. Coordinate location of receptacle with COTR prior to placement. 13.Install new circuit with #12 conductors in " conduit to nearest electrical panel, number DPCLB1 in room 24A-1. Provide (1) one new 20 amp 120 volt circuit breaker in the panel. Panel DPCLB1 is a normal power, 3 phase, 4 wire, 400 amp Square D panel, catalog number HCN45 16201-96 with breaker type FA36. 14.Label receptacle and update panel board directory. 15.The conduit run shall be through the East wall of electrical room 24A-1 to the outside, across the exterior wall, and back through the exterior wall into room 24. Coordinate location of all core drills with COTR. Properly seal exterior penetrations to make a watertight seal. 16.Provide cable ties (zip ties) to secure sump pump cord to discharge pipe at 18" o.c. minimum. C.Total project cost shall include the removal and disposal of old equipment, mounting and installation of condensate return pump trap and accessories, modifications to existing piping and flanges, testing/commissioning, and operation manuals to provide a complete working installation. Project duration is 60 days after Notice to Proceed is issued. In accordance with the VA Acquisition Regulations the range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Liquidated Damages: $500.00 per calendar day, including holidays and weekends. NAICS 238220 - $13M applies. This is a 100% Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business set-aside in accordance with PL 109-461. All responsible and interested offerors should submit a proposal in accordance with RFP VA263-09-RP-0247. Offerors are to complete and submit their proposals not later than Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. CT.
