- Description
- This amendment is being issued to answer questions from industry: Question: What are the hours of operation for the Gaithersburg facility as well as the JFK International Airport Facility? Answer: The trucks will need to be escorted on campus, so the hours will be at least partially dependent on the availability of our technician. In general, we should be able to have trucks and rigging equipment on campus between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. We do not know the specific hours of operation of the JFK facility but will attempt to find out before the site visit. Question: Will special identification be required by riggers and/or truckers to enter either of these facilities? Answer: NIST will need to know in advance the names of the drivers and riggers so that their names can be entered in the visitor database. If drivers and riggers are U.S. citizens, this information is needed 24 hours before their arrival at the NIST campus. For non-U.S. citizens, we will need two weeks lead time in order for them to be able to access the site. We will try to find out what the requirements are for identification at the JFK Facility. Question: Will there be space made available to leave trailers and rigging equipment? Answer: We’ll have to look into this question. It would seem that we should be able to have some limited space available for rigging equipment to be kept during the duration of this project. Question: Will we be allowed to take pictures of the steel while on the site visit? Answer: Yes, photographs will be permitted during the site visit. All other terms and conditions remain the same.
