- Description
- Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Leecher Mountain Lookout. The Okanogan – Wenatchee National Forest located in North Central Washington State has a requirement for rehabilitation and reconstruction of one fire lookout on the Methow Valley Ranger District. The project is located in Okanogan County, Washington State. The Contractor shall furnish all management, labor, equipment, supervision, tools, materials, transportation, operating supplies, supervision, workman’s compensation, unemployment insurance and incidentals necessary to perform the work in accordance with the specification and provisions of the contract. The project consists of, but not limited to, replacing cedar shake roof and hip flashing, reinforcing tower girders and beams, installing steel channel perimeter reinforcing for mounting new shutters, reconstructing the hold-down system, and repairing cracks in tower struts and braces with epoxy. The Contractor shall also replace and paint catwalk decking, handrails and posts, remove and replace all exterior window sills and trim with similar material, build and install new shutters, and replace the existing door, screen door and flooring. Work is estimated to begin in July 20, 2009 with a completion date of September 30, 2010. Both payment and performance bonds will be required. The contract will have one base item and six option items. Magnitude of construction (if all options are exercised) is between $100,000 and $250,000. This project will be advertised as a written request for proposals. Estimated issue date of the solicitation is on or about May 22, 2009. Proposals are estimated to be due June 25, 2009. The actual due date will be listed in the solicitation. This acquisition is set aside for Hubzone Certified Small Business Concerns. NAICS code is 236220, size standard is $31.0 million. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered. An electronic copy of the solicitation will be posted at this site on the issue date.
