- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Roche Diagnostics Corporation, 9115 Hague Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256-1025 for a MagNA Pure 96 offering automated nucleic acid isolation of 96 samples; purifications completed within 60 minutes; proven magnetic-bead technology; pre-filled reagent cartridges; bar-code guided purification; process monitoring for load check; liquid level detection and clot detection; reagent kits for isolation of viral NA, DNA and RNA from a wide range of samples; and optimized purification protocols for specified applications. This is a standalone tabletop instrument with desktop PC, 120cmx80cmx100cm with a weight of 160kg. It has 96 channel processing head with disposable tips and a 4-channel multi-dispensing reagent head with steel needles, also one heating block and one cooling block, and includes a drop catcher and UV lamp for decontamination. Software provides for preprogrammed purification protocols. The purchase of this instrument is due to a need for a small footprint, rapid high-throughput automated nucleic acid extraction instrument for outbreak needs. It has a nucleic acid purification system using magnetic-glass-particle (MGP) technology that can purify 96 samples in under one hour; a reagent pipetting head with 4 permanent steel needles for multi-dispensing of all reagents and a 96-channel processing head with disposable tips for handling samples; and uses a neodymium magnet located underneath the processing cartridge to perform the MGP separation steps. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This procurement is not set-aside for small business. For contractual questions contact Linda M. Young.
