Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Research Triangle Park, NC 27709 intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Photon Technology International, Birmingham, NJ, 08011, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This request is for the following: 1) # Soft-1 (4 ea) New FeliX 32 software platform for current PTI FeliX systems, includes FeliX 32 software and manuals, electric computer interface (BryteBox), computer and installation. The requested package will be used to upgrade existing Photon Technology Int. (PTI) Microscopes and Cuvette Systems currently being used at NIEHS. The existing systems combine fluorescence and electrophysiological techniques using software, electronics, and computer interface manufactured by PTI. PTI is the only vendor that can provide this upgrade and guarantees compatibility with existing PTI systems as well as continued performance of existing systems. Any firm believing itself capable of providing these services may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 8 days of date of notice to Tanya Shields at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Photon Technology International. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500 Employees. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
