Description
The project involves the installation of one 70’ steel stringer bridge across the Suiattle River and a 40’ steel stringer bridge across a side channel of the Suiattle River. The project will include approach ramps and raised boardwalk between the two bridge locations. The bridges are located off the Suiattle River Trail near Canyon Creek on the Darrington Ranger District of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The Suiattle River Trail is located entirely within the Glacier Peak Wilderness Area. Use of helicopters for this project is expected. BOTH BRIDGES ARE GOVERNMENT FURNISHED. The project is located on the Darrington Ranger District of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. From the Seattle area, drive I-5 north to Hwy 530. Head east on Hwy 530 to Darrington. At the four way stop in Darrington, turn north on Hwy 530 toward Rockport. Drive this road seven miles to the Suiattle River Road. Follow this road approx. 12 miles to where the road is closed due to washouts. The Suiattle Trailhead is another 12 miles on the closed Suiattle River Road. It is approximately 6 miles from the Suiattle Trailhead to the project site.5 miles above Canyon Creek. A Ranger district map showing the road and trail system is available for viewing and/or purchase at the Forest Service office in Darrington, WA. Estimated issue date for the solicitation is on or about July 2, 2009. Estimated start work date is September 01, 2009 with a duration of 120 days. The government estimated price range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Bonds are required. The project is 100% set aside for HUBzone small business concerns.
