Description
RECOVERY- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER the DOD Near Term Energy-Efficient Technologies Program Plan, Attachment A, SBIR/STTR Small Business Innovative Research. Specifically the effort under Air Force category "Tactical Power Systems/Generator", entitled "Photon Initiated Thyristor Switches", to be awarded to Sci-Eng Solutions, LLC. Please do not respond to this announcement; a formal solicitation will NOT follow this announcement. This $625,000 12-Month Phase II SBIR award is to be funded under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009. This is one time funding. This effort was previously competed under the DOD 2007.3 SBIR Solicitation, Topic 073-008 "Solid State Switch for High Voltage Sub-microsecond Pulsed Power". The objective is to develop, fabricate and demonstrate a prototype, solid state pulsed power switch capable of switching 20-50 kV, and I > 5kA with low-jitter, fast rise times (20 ns or less), minimal inductance (<20 nH), modest pulse length (100 to 1000 ns), and up to 1000 Hz pulse repetition frequency. A business and commercialization plan for the Phase II engineering development and marketing program will be developed. Technical Point of Contact: Matthew Domonkos, AFRL/RDHP, (505) 853-4507
