Description
This is being issued under the competitive 8(a) procedures. Competition will be limited to only those 8(a) contractors that are located within the geographical area serviced by the Small Business Administration, Mississippi District Office which have been assigned NAICS code 237990 among those approved for 8(a) participation are eligible to bid. The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment, and constructing the Steele Bayou, Item 66-B Channel Relocation, Phase 2, located at Yazoo National Wildlife Refuge in Washington County, Mississippi. Principal features of the work include mobilization and demobilization, clearing and grubbing, excavating approximately 1.72 linear miles of new channel, raising (in a one foot lift) 3.6 linear miles of existing earthen dikes and levees, 3,800 linear feet of new levee, relocating 1,476 linear feet of a county gravel road, corrugated metal pipe, two major stream closures, three smaller stream closures, various realignments of ditches and small streams, establishing new turf, and storm water pollution prevention and environmental protection. The value of the proposed work is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Plans and specifications will be available on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Web Page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Bidders may register on the Interested Vendors List (IVL) at http://www.fbo.gov/ and retrieve an IVL from the same location. Compact disc and hardcopies will not be available. Bidders should check often for changes (AMENDMENTS). A Pre-Bid conference will be held with location, date and time forthcoming...UPDATED PRE-BID CONFERENCE INFORMATION: A pre-bid conference will be held on 22 July 2009 at 1000 hours at the Leroy Percy State Park. Attendance is recommended but not required. All questions shall be submitted in writing. Answers will be provided to all potential bidders via an amendment to the solicitation. Issue date on or about July 7, 2009. Bid opening date on or about August 11, 2009. Funds are not presently available for this acquisition. No contract award will be made until funds are made available, AFARS 1.602-2.
