- Description
- The Fort Myer Military Community, Ft Myer, Virginia has a requirement for officer sabers and NCO swords. Saber and scabbard, for US Army Infantry officer. Cap and Guard must be nickel plated brass, with the guard embossed to avoid pits. Blade shall be made of high carbon steel tempered to 48-52 HRC Rockwell to resist abrasion yet remain flexible, nickel plated, acid etched so deep one can feel it with a fingernail. Blade shall have unsharpened ceremonial edge, but the blade has and a sharp tip. Scabbard shall be made of 1 mm thick steel tube, nickel plated and hand polished. Size shall range from 30 - 34 inches. Sword for NCO. Guard shall be embossed and polished brass guard with 24 carat gold plating. Grip shall be entirely wrapped in silver-plated brass wire. Blade shall be stainless steel and hand polished, with an unsharpened ceremonial edge but a sharp tip. Cast brass pommel with 24 carat gold plating. Scabbard shall be polyurethane tube with black calf leather. Fittings must be polished brass with 24 carat gold plated. Size range is from 30 34 inches. This requirement is being set aside as a 100% Set-aside Small Business procurement. The award will be a Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with one base year plus four option years. The FSC Code is 1095 and the NAICS Code is 332211.
