- DESCRIPTION: The Southwest Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 18 under the authority of 38 U.S.C. 8153 is soliciting information from responsible contractors or blood banks that provide various human blood and blood products. The VA is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and capability to service the geographic area from businesses capable of and interested in providing blood and blood products for beneficiaries of the Dept of Veterans Affairs and enrolled patients. There are seven (7) health care systems within VISN 18 which are located geographically through out Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas specifically in Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott, Albuquerque, Big Springs, Amarillo, and El Paso. The VA is seeking a provider capable of covering the needs of all of these areas but may consider multiple sources at the discretion of the government. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) Code is 621991 Contract period shall be a base year with four (4) option years when awarded. Please demonstrate interest and ability by responding to this Sources Sought Announcement no later than 3:30 p.m. on June 30, 2009. Your response must identify your company name, point of contact, contact information, and, capabilities statement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS, OR BIDS. THE VA IS SEEKING INFORMATIONAL MARKET AVAILABILITY. THE VA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SOLICIT THIS SERVICE AS APPROPRIATE. This is a request for information only and no solicitation currently exists therefore, DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION as there is no assurance that a solicitation will result.
